Sandeep Gupta is a retired barrister with a distinguished career in the British legal system, including extensive service with the Serious Fraud Office (SFO). As an Independent Director of the Heston Wellness Centre (HWC), Sandeep brings a formidable level of scrutiny, integrity, and legal expertise to our Board.
Sandeep joined HWC to ensure that the charity operates to the highest possible standards of transparency and safety. He believes that robust governance is the bedrock upon which meaningful community wellness is built.
Professional Background and Expertise
Sandeep’s career at the Bar and his work with the SFO have made him an expert in financial oversight, regulatory compliance, and risk management. Within the Heston Wellness Centre, he applies these skills to ensure that every pound donated or granted is used effectively for the benefit of our participants.
His key areas of oversight include:
Financial Integrity: Sandeep oversees the charity’s internal financial controls, ensuring that HWC maintains a transparent audit trail and robust anti-fraud measures.
Regulatory Compliance: He ensures that HWC meets all statutory requirements set out by the Charity Commission and Companies House.
Safeguarding Leadership: As our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Sandeep manages our protocols for the protection of vulnerable adults. His legal background ensures that our reporting procedures are precise, confidential, and fully aligned with the Care Act 2014.
