Harminder “Min” Matharu BA (Hons) Business Studies

Harminder brings to HWC all the knowledge and experience of her distinguished background in senior executive leadership across central government, public sector partnerships, education, and skills training.

Harminder’s career spans high-profile leadership roles, including Director of Government Partnerships and Enterprise at FutureLearn, Interim Director of Partnerships at Youth Futures Foundation, and Skills Devolution Policy and Implementation Director at the Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP). She also spent nearly a decade in civil service leadership at the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) / Education & Skills Funding Agency. Earlier in her career, she developed extensive operational and business excellence experience across major corporate entities, including Barclays Bank Plc and British Airways Plc.

An alumna of the University of West London and local Lampton Comprehensive School, Harminder brings a strong combination of commercial acumen, strategic insight, and public service values to HWC’s leadership team.

Hands-on Engagement & Skills

Before joining the Board, Harminder served as a Lead Volunteer at Heston Wellness Centre. In this role, she engaged directly with over-65s community members, co-managed class registrations, oversaw fee collections, and supported the operational transition from legacy paper processes to an efficient online registration system. This frontline experience gives her first-hand insight into the Centre’s daily operations and the needs of its participants.
