Ketayun “Katy” Cooper BA, BEd (SP)

Role: HWC Board Director

Ketayun brings a wealth of professional experience to HWC as well as exceptional organisational skills, and a genuine passion for the local Heston community.

Having enjoyed a distinguished 39-year career in the banking sector with the State Bank of India from 1984 through to her retirement in late 2023, Ketayun possesses extensive expertise in financial management, administration, and team leadership. Throughout her career, which included covering Assistant Manager responsibilities, she developed a proven track record in client relationship management, accurate financial processing, and upholding the highest standards of professional confidentiality and governance.

Community Connection & Volunteering

A local resident, Ketayun actively contributes to Heston Wellness Centre's mission by volunteering directly with our 65+ community programmes. This hands-on, frontline engagement gives her a first-hand understanding of the needs of our service users and the crucial role that low-cost wellness activities, such as our chair yoga and tai chi classes play in tackling isolation and promoting lifelong health.

Her dedication to community service extends back over many years. She previously spent 15 years as an Assistant Scout Leader for the Beaver Scouts (1998–2013) and spent six years teaching children with disabilities early in her career.

Role at HWC

As a Director over the age of 65, Ketayun combines empathetic insights and operational frontline knowledge with strong administrative and financial acumen. She is dedicated to supporting HWC's strategic growth, maintaining strong governance, and ensuring the Centre remains an inclusive, welcoming hub for all Heston residents.
